  1. Data collection. For the avoidance of doubt, any non-personally identifying information and/or any non-Customer-identifying information (including aggregated data and statistics) derived from Customer Data and/or arising from use or provision of the Services will not constitute Customer Data and Versature will be free to use such information for any purpose.
  3. Data handling. net2phone Canada will:
    1. not use Customer Personal Information other than as required to provide the Services (unless otherwise agreed with Customer);
    2. implement appropriate organizational and technical safeguards to minimize the risk of Customer Personal Information being lost, stolen or disclosed without authorization;

Indirect End User Phone Contact Information (Personal Identifiable Information)

net2phone Canada acts as a data processor with regard to indirect end-user personal identifiable information.

Specifically, only when enabled via system permission on SONAR Mobile Android and SONAR Mobile iOS, net2phone Canada shows personal contacts within the respective application. When the user sends an SMS message to one of his/her phone contacts, or when the user initiates a call to one of his/her phone contacts, the phone number is sent securely through net2phone Canada’ API. net2phone Canada does not store this number with any other PII, and it cannot be directly or indirectly attributed to any person or persons; net2phone Canada stores only the phone number and pertinent metadata so as to be compliant with all applicable state and federal laws, and net2phone Canada does not share this data with any advertisers or third parties under any circumstances. A user can revoke phone contact access on his/her mobile device at any time, and his/her app experience is not hindered or interrupted.

SONAR Mobile Android and iOS also uses Gravatar, only when enabled via Settings, which is a service that provides avatar images linked to the MD5 hash of the user’s email address. This means that, only when Gravatar use is enabled, we hash each contact’s email address and send it to Gravatar to try and retrieve an avatar image. MD5 hashes cannot be directly or indirectly attributed to any person or persons, and we only send the MD5 hash to Gravatar, never the email address in plain text. As with phone contacts, a user can revoke Gravatar access at any time in Settings, and his/her app experience is not hindered or interrupted.

Image Collection Explained
The app collects the user's images only if it is expressly allowed by clicking "allow" in the disclosure dialogue when the app attempts to access the user's phone gallery or camera. The user's choice will affect the overall app usage since it will affect their ability to share images and videos from outside of the app.

We collect the following image information from inside chats: the image size, the file path, and the image extension. We do not collect any other images outside of the app's chat history. We do not send or share this information. We do securely store a base64 representation of the image with our API in order to maintain a history of the user's chat conversation in the app itself.
