IP Changeover April 2020

As we expand our geographic footprint and number of active servers, we are moving towards a unified IP block. This allows for greater flexibility to support our growth; by removing the requirement of actioning any IP changes in the future for our clients.

If your business does not currently have traffic shaping capable firewalls, this changeover will not affect you. The ideal router is capable of traffic shaping to ensure that your voice traffic is always prioritized, so your calls are consistently clear. Consider reaching out to our Support team or your Customer Success Manager to learn more about why traffic shaping is important.

net2phone Canada is excited to be growing our business and expanding into a global market. While we grow, we are committed to delivering the same world-class customer support and continued transparency with our clients.

What does this IP changeover mean for you?

Ensured QoS - We want to keep our QoS as we grow and expand. By adding the new IP range to your routers, we can guarantee our VoIP phone solutions continued reliability for your business.

Less work for you! - The IP range is a one-time addition to your router, meaning as we grow and add servers and Points of Presence (PoP), your router will be pre-equipped to accept these changes/additions.

Continued transparency as we expand - Adding our new IP range gives net2phone Canada the flexibility to expand without continually asking you to add new rules to keep your routers updated. We will always inform you when there are infrastructure changes.

My business doesn’t use traffic shaping or firewalls - There is nothing you need to do! The changeover will not affect you whatsoever. Consider reaching out to our Support team or your Customer Success Manager to learn more about why traffic shaping is important, and if your business should upgrade your routers.

What do you need to do?

If your firewall or router does not allow you to input fully qualified domain names, use the IP addresses these hostnames resolve to, and add our new IP block 204.235.80.0/20.
